Children's Movie
There will be a special showing of the movie Free Willy in honor of Whalefest this month on Friday, April 19th at 3pm. Rated PG. Runtime 1hr 52min. Star Wars Resistance will be shown at the library on Friday, May 3rd at 3:30pm. Rated TV-Y7. Run time: 30 minutes.
STEAM & a Story
On Saturday, May 11th at 11:00am, read the book Color Dance by Ann Jonas with Mrs. Kate. Followed by a spin art STEAM activity where young patrons get to explore color mixing! Ages K-8th Grade.
Kodiak Hearts
On Friday, May 10th at 3:30pm, create and decorate mini flower pots to give to someone special.
Crafternoon
There will be a special edition of Crafternoon in honor of Whalefest, where you participants can come and make a collage based on the book Swimmy by Leo Lionni on Friday, April 26th at 3pm. The next meeting will be Saturday, May 11th at 1:00pm, where participants will be creating paper flowers that look like the real thing. Just in time for the spring. All ages welcome.
LEGO Club
Explore your imagination with LEGO blocks in the Multipurpose Room. Wednesdays from 3:30pm - 4:30pm.
Chess Club
Drop in! All ages and abilities welcome. Chess Club will meet Thursdays April 4 & 18 at 3:00pm-5:00pm.
Lapsit Storytime
Lapsit Storytime meets on Fridays at 10:30 AM, except for the first Friday of the month. This program is for ages 0-3 and is hosted by volunteer and KPLA member Abigail Hanna.
Story Stroll
Enjoy a picture book, page by page, as you walk around the library building. Read as you stroll! This project was made possible in part by a grant from the Institute of Museum and Library Services.
1000 Books Before Kindergarten
Children who are exposed to reading and stories at an early age are successful in learning and ready for school. Enjoy reading 1,000 books with your little ones! Log reading and earn badges all along the way. A Beanstack reading challenge.
